On September 13 and 14, 2025, the association Salon International e.V. and the B-Movie St.Pauli invite you to a special weekend. Three guided tours of Tanzania Park will be offered as part of the nationwide Open Monument Day, which has the motto "Valuable: priceless or irreplaceable?". These tours offer the opportunity to discover and reflect on the historical and cultural traces of the park.

 

11 a.m. Tour with Anke Schwarzer (Bildungsbüro Hamburg e.V.)

 

2 pm Tour (eng.) with Ben Nthahondi from the Dar Es Salaam Center for Architectual Hertiage (DARCH)

Join us for Mapping the Unseen, a unique heritage walk that blends storytelling, music and dialog.
Together, we will uncover both visible and invisible traces of colonialism, guided by songs of resistance at historic stops along the route.
The journey begins with a "story wall," inviting your reflections on memory, home, and identity. It ends with an open-air roundtable, where shared words, poems, and music set the stage for an honest conversation about our past and how we carry it into the future.
Come see the park differently. Come hear the stories it has been keeping.

 

5 p.m. Tour with Marc Argten "Beats, Rhymes and History"

A rapped cultural mediation format, which he offers under his stage name Sherlock F. in Hamburg's urban space. He focuses on the topic of colonialism - because there are many points of reference in Hamburg, including Jenfeld and the so-called Tanzania Park. He has artistically reworked this for all interested parties and adapted it into a guided tour format.
